Events for the next round include judging of website design, promotional material design, and solo vocal and guitar performances! Shooga Bear Records was formed in late 2003 when a live engineering
set-up began to flourish and take shape. Taking a unique
prospective on recording bands, this remains one of the true
prides of the Shooga Bear world.
Every band has a practice space, and for most bands they spend
at least twice as much time in the practice space as they
do in either a real recording environment or performing live.
What we do at Shooga Bear Records is bring a mobile
recording unit to you, the band, and make the recording where
you are most comfortable - in your practice space! Somewhere
between recording live to 2-track DAT and a full fledged
studio, great diversity and a unique sound can be created
within the confines of this recording method.
Catering to bands is only the tip of the iceburg. We also
can capture the best of singer-songwriters and folk groups. Your
recordings will be engineered and mixed to your liking, and can
then be mastered as well through another division of our company.
2004 saw the release of Rocketeer by The Aeronautical Legends. Taking
on the responsibility of a traditional record label seemed
daunting, but Shooga Bear Records could not pass up the opportunity
and promise we saw in The Aeronautical Legends. Truly a
great songwriting talent, we are making strides to stand out in
a crowded indie label market by providing a unique perspective on the
music industry. Shooga Bear Records does not sign "x-year" deals with
artists - if you need to get just one record released to then jump to
another label, we will be that springboard. As a band, we cater to
what you want, from the types of magazines you want your disc
submitted to all the way to defining what the artwork will look like.
